Blepharitis

Blepharitis is defined as a condition where the eyelids become inflamed, at the point where the skin connects to the eyelashes (the margin of the eye). It usually affects both eyes at the same time, although it is possible for it to occur in only one eye or the other. The root causes of Blepharitis are unclear and may vary from person to person. Skin conditions, malfunctioning oil glands in the eye, allergies, or bacterial infection may be responsible for the inflammation experienced. Chronic Blepharitis occurs when a person experiences frequent bouts of Blepharitis – or when someone has a case of Blepharitis that just never really seems to go away.

Exceeded My Expectations

“I have dry eyes and was having difficulties reading in the evening and even watching TV. I used eye drops frequently, which did not seem to help. In the morning I would wake up with my eyes sealed shut so that I could not open them without drops. The problems seemed to be getting worse. My nutritionist referred me to TheraLife. The TheraLife® Eye Enhanced pills are providing what my eyes need to be healthy. This product has met and exceeded my expectations.”  -E.H. California

How Can TheraLife® Eye Help Your Blepharitis?

TheraLife® Eye Enhanced can help you reduce inflammation and relieve dry eye symptoms related to blepharitis and other conditions. Our all natural formula contains a blend of herbal extracts, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help increase micro-circulation to ocular tissue, improve tear quality, and maintain healthy function of the lens and retina of the eye. This formula is optimized to bring accelerated relief for dry eye discomfort. TheraLife® Eye Enhanced has been clinically shown to stimulate tear secretion glands intracellularly (from within their cells) to allow you to produce balanced, natural tears from your own eyes. TheraLife® Eye Enhanced works from the inside out so that the tear secretion is sustainable throughout the day. TheraLife® Eye Enhanced works without washing away the valuable mucin, lipids, and protein components that lubricate the eye – unlike eye drops applied to the eye’s surface, which can actually strip the eyes of its healthy, natural substances.

The TheraLife® Eye Difference

  • All-natural products without the side effects of drugs
  • 100% safe and pure ingredients, FDA approved
  • Provides lasting relief for chronic dry eye discomfort
  • Helps reduce irritation and inflammation of the tear glands, eye surfaces, and eyelids
  • Helps restore your eyes’ ability to produce their own natural tears
  • Clinically proven – 86% of patients in a clinical study showed increased tear production
  • Helps more than fish oils or flax seed oils alone because of its unique, patented formulation of nutrients, phytochemicals, and proprietary herbal extracts that improves ocular micro-circulation (which delivers more nutrients and oxygen to the eye, while carrying out more harmful waste products) and stimulates mito-activation (which boosts intracellular metabolism and restore normal cell function).
  • Keeps your eyes healthier and stronger

More Information on Blepharitis

Blepharitis is defined as a condition where the eyelids become inflamed, at the point where the skin connects to the eyelashes (the margin of the eye). It usually affects both eyes at the same time, although it is possible for it to occur in only one eye or the other. The root causes of blepharitis are unclear and may vary from person to person. Chronic blepharitis occurs when a person experiences frequent bouts of blepharitis – or when someone has a case of blepharitis that just never really seems to go away.

Symptoms of Blepharitis

blepharitis eye diagram Symptoms of blepharitis include red, dry eyes, blurry vision, watery eyes, tiredness, light sensitivity, and often waking up with crust in the eyelashes. If you have chronic inflammation of your eye(s) along with blepharitis, symptoms can be:

  • Redness of the eyelids
  • Flaking of skin on the lids
  • Crusting at the lid margins (This is generally worse on waking.)
  • Cysts at the lid margin
  • Debris in the tear film, seen under magnification
  • Gritty sensation of the eye
  • Reduced vision

The most common type of blepharitis is often found in people with a Rosacea skin type. The eye oil glands of rosacea sufferers secrete a different type/consistency of oil from what most people produce. The different consistency of oil leads to inflammation/clogging of the meibomian gland openings, which are found at the edge of the eye lid. These factors can lead to the need for chronic blepharitis treatment. TheraLife® Eye relieves blepharitis symptoms and red, crusty eyes by reducing inflammation and restoring normal tear functions, intra-cellularly. Used in conjunction with the recommended daily routine of eyelid cleaning and hot compresses, TheraLife® Eye can help get your life back on track. TheraLife® Eye offers one of the most complete and effective chronic blepharitis treatments on the market.

Blepharitis and Chronic Dry Eyes

Chronic dry eyes seem to go hand in hand with blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). The irritations cause inflammation. Chronic blepharitis treatment that’s effective must take into account issues associated with MGD and dry eye syndrome more generally.

Blepharitis vs. Conjunctivitis / Pink Eye

A note on the differences between conjunctivitis (pink eye) and blepharitis, and on their relationship to one another: Blepharitis involves an inflammation of the edges of the eyelids and may be caused by a bacterial infection, problems with the eye’s oil glands, or both. If an individual’s blepharitis is not caused by an infection, then it is not contagious. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) differs from blepharitis in that a different pat of the eye, the conjuntiva, becomes infected and inflamed. With pink eye, the affected area can cover the insides of both eyelids and the white parts of the eyeball. The whites of the eye may become red or pink, hence the common name “pink eye.” Conjunctivitis almost always involves an infection, and therefore is contagious and can be passed from person to person. Conjunctiva can be caused by a viral infection (ocular herpes) or bacterial infection. Conjunctivitis may co-occur with blepharitis, and vice-versa.

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated with antibiotic eye drops.
  • Viral infections typically run through a 14-day cycle, moving from one eye to the other and then stopping. There are prescription drugs that treat recurrent ocular herpes; consult with your doctor.

Helpful Tips for Blepharitis Relief / Chronic Blepharitis Treatment

The best chronic blepharitis treatment is to take TheraLife® Eye daily. It will relieve dry eyes and reduce and control inflammation. Follow your eye doctor’s recommendations and use warm compresses and eyelid cleaning on a daily basis. Such a routine needs to be convenient enough to be continued for life to avoid relapses, as blepharitis is often a chronic condition. (But it can be acute, and one episode does not mean it is a life-long condition.)

Testimonial

"I am 6 months post LASIK. I was diagnosed with dry eyes and MGD. My eyes are red, inflamed with mucus. I can not begin to tell you how much Theralife has made a difference for my eyes! I'm still currently using 3-4 capsules twice daily, along with fish oil, warm compresses and daily eye hygiene with lid scrubs. My eyes have been feeling great! Thank you so much for caring.
