TheraLife® Eye formulation called "Best treatment" for dry, burning eyes caused by computer vision syndrome.
Los Altos, Calif. (July 31, 2002) - TheraLife® Inc., an emerging leader in the discovery and development of cutting-edge drug enhancement technologies, announced that the company's new oral TheraLife® Eye formulation can bring welcome relief to as many as 60 million computer users who suffer from Computer Vision Syndrome-related dry or burning eyes.
Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a series of inter-related eye conditions resulting from increased use of computers at work and home. Symptoms include dry, irritated, burning, sandy or gritty eyes, eyestrain, headache, blurred and double vision.
"In the past two decades, computer use has grown dramatically. It is estimated that there are more than 100 million Americans using computers on a regular basis, and the price we are paying is our eyesight and vision health," said Dr. Jeffrey Anshel, a renowned Southern California optometrist and author of more than 50 published articles and several leading books on vision and eye care.
"Because computer use is such a highly demanding visual task, vision problems and symptoms are very common and growing in complexity. Computer screen glare, a vertical work surface, a rapidly flickering screen, lack of sufficient contrast, unnatural eye positioning, and greatly reduced blinking all contribute to CVS," said Dr. Anshel.
"This combination of circumstances leads to eye strain and dry, irritated eyes. When we don't blink enough our eyes are not kept moist for normal eye functioning," explained Dr. Anshel. "The combination of reduced moistening and tear flow adversely impacts the oxygen balance of the external eye structure as well as the optical properties that keep our eyes sharp. The implications are even worse for contact lens wearers and for those who have undergone LASIK surgery."
"The best available treatment that I have found for CVS-related dry eyes is TheraLife® Eye, a remarkable new formulation," said Dr. Anshel. "Taken orally, TheraLife® Eye capsules produce excellent long-term results, have very good patient acceptance, contain all natural ingredients and, best of all, they work."
"TheraLife® Eye capsules offer substantial advantages for sufferers of CVS," said Lily C. Yang, Ph.D., TheraLife® CEO and President. "Unlike eye drops, TheraLife® Eye enables the eye to secrete natural salt-based tears, rapidly relieving the discomfort of dry eyes and eye fatigue. The product's effectiveness in treating dry eyes has been scientifically substantiated in a Phase IIb clinical trial."
Dr. Anshel will present a CE-accredited Computer Vision Syndrome Seminar, Sunday, August 18, 2002, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Marriott Southfield, Detroit, Michigan. For registration information and a full seminar schedule, call 1-800-383-1202 or visit his web site at www.cvconsulting.com
